MEET A SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

Toni Allison ’20 • Inman, SC

Ken & Helen Dobbs Scholarship

Hibernian Society Foundation Scholarship

What has been one of your favorite experiences here at College of Charleston?

Being able to have big university opportunities with a small university feel. I have been given so many opportunities, but I have also been able to get to know all of my professors, advisors, and peers on such a personal level. I feel these connections have helped develop me into the person I am becoming at the College.

What are your plans for after graduation?

I will attend medical school and become a pediatric oncologist. My end goal is opening a general pediatric office for families in disadvantageous situations that would offer free treatment to children who live below the poverty line and discounted rates to those who are in a bind or cannot afford for their children to be seen by a medical professional at the time. Before retirement, I hope to travel with Doctors without Borders to offer my services to children outside of the United States.

How has your scholarship helped you and what is something you would want your donor to know about you?

My scholarship has allowed me to have more time to devote to school and volunteering in the Charleston community.
