Sharon & William Asbill Scholarship

Grant Mayo Eney Memorial Scholarship

What has been one of your favorite experiences here at College of Charleston?

Celebrating the College’s 250th Anniversary out on the Cistern this past January.

What are your plans for after graduation?

I have known I wanted to pursue a career in real estate since I was in high school. It wasn’t until I came to the College of Charleston and took a class with Dr. Worzala my freshman year that I was exposed to many different commercial professionals and professional associations I could join as a student prior to my career. After college, I plan to pursue my dream to become a commercial real estate broker, focusing on the industrial sector. I am currently working with Colliers International, which has been a fantastic fit for me, so I am hopeful what my future holds with the company.

How has your scholarship helped you and what is something you would want your donor to know about you?

My family and I are extremely thankful for the scholarships I have been awarded. As you know, brokers make straight commissions when they begin their career. With your support, I am able to focus on my dream career, being a broker, with having to worry about a smaller amount of loan payments I would have prior to your support. With that being said, I’ve been able to take a step back and focus on accelerating my career and succeeding in school while staying involved within the School of Business, as well as outside professional organizations.
